A "DISNEY" Birthday Bash Never Gets Old!
Yesterday was the day I picked to shock my wife into thinking I actually forgot her birthday this year, fortunately for her I'm quite the practical joker and just around 4:30 in the afternoon I asked her if she'd like to ride on over to our favorite sandwich shop down the road form us a piece and catch a sandwich and a nice little ride?
Now to most of you, you'd be thinking , WOW how nice "CHEAP SKATE", but believe it or not the wife and I are pretty simple living folk's and that would of been birthday celebration enough I due believe on her behalf, but thankfully I'm not through with this story , oh no not yet , not yet at all.
You see the closer we got to taking the turn we needed too take in order to arrive at our favorite sandwich shop the more I had to think up an excuse for going the other way which lead us to our "Real" destination, which was "Disney's Fort Wilderness Lodge", needless to say the turn came and went and before you knew it we were arriving at the lodge. Now many ask from Clermont about how far away is that?, and it was exactly 22 miles there.
Once at "Disney's Fort Wilderness Lodge" ,we took a small pathway which lead us down by the seven sea's lagoon and eventually down to "Trails End Cafe ", our "Real " Destination for this evenings dining experience.
Dining wise, yes it's a buffet and yes I said it, it's a "BUFFET", but this one is Disney's version which they put the "DOWN HOME FAMILY STYLE COOKING" on it which included: BBQ Spare Ribs, server sliced Ham, Beef and chicken, all kinds of down home southern BBQ sides, like old fashioned mac and cheese, as well as the freshest of garden veggies. They also served full bar liquor here, but because we were out on the bike we had to behave, so it was the best of the best "SWEET TEA", ya Baby! Sorry forgot to mention the fact they put on one heck of a spread when it comes to desserts as well, Bravo, very nicely done Disney, thank you for making dinner such a hit that never gets old.
Now from dinner we caught a wonderful carriage ride in the woods, from there, we caught the river boat over to the Contemporary, and boarded the Monorail to our next destination which was the Polynesian Resort, we arrived there and headed down stairs from the monorail to the Beach front bordering Seven sea's lagoon, where nightly the resort guest are treated to beach front movies in the best of the best lounge chairs, but wait a minute we weren't guests you say?, that's right< we crashed it , but really folk's, we were there for the Fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.
Looking directly due East from the Poly's Beach front is one of the most "Romantic" places to catch the "WISHES" fireworks presentation from Disney's Magic Kingdom, the reflection of the fireworks across the water, along with all the resorts speakers playing the whole show as it airs at the kingdom, so not only do you see the show from the Poly's beach head, but you hear it as well, now tell me that wasn't a great way to top a night out for your birthday?
The ride home was all back roads, and all in the dark, but I was comfortable taking that trip as it's been done so routinely that it was made to be simple.
Thank you "Disney" for helping me spoil my wife again for her birthday this year.
and again , "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE".
Make It A Great Day Folk's !
