Remembering "PEARL HARBOR"

Remembering "PEARL HARBOR"

Even though "Pearl Harbor" was 71 years ago today, it's still in my mind as a very hurtful attack and when I was growing up I heard the stories of how one of my uncles just made it off his ship that morning before the ship went down just minutes later, he lost all his friends in a blink of an eye, and even though my Uncle is no longer alive today I still honor his memory by lifting a glass at the table to night and wishing him and all his displaced shipmates a fond farewell.

I can remember going to Hawaii on our Honeymoon and we visited and took the memorial tour for the Pearl Harbor event, it was very Erie how things today remained the same , like history just stood still, those ships that sunk did so and they were left right there and sealed tight as a memorial to the ones who all lost their lives that day.Floating a wreath out to sea during the cruise in honor of our fallen hero's seemed to be and understatement that day, only because even though the year was 1984, there wasn't a dry eye on board that vessel that day we went out.

My heart goes out to those who lost family that day and really I hope our history lives on with the richness of events like this terrible tragedy and I hope never happen again. Whew I can dream, can't I?

May the sleeping Giant continue his sleep, and may everyone remember what happens when you cross lines that this giant doesn't like.
